And I read all kind of “arguments” including disgusting, fake Twatter accusations. And this is not only case of hat… mean dislike toward Andrew. Really statements like : I don’t like this guy… and sound like you guys go much more further than “dislike”. This was much more friendly envirnoment in this time… at least I remember in this way. Even before I start to use Blender I occasionally visit BA, mostly because on Blender Guru… mean dude on my local Art forum which use Blender and draw my attention. That’s not really his fault, but I do think he could do more to encourage people to listen to other voices than his.īlender community really change during years. I’ve also found his devoted fanbase to be extremely annoying- specifically, they often regard him as the only Blender tutorial maker and expert, and use that to deride other tutorial makers. If he was a little more willing to say “you should also check out X tutorial and Y tutorial maker”, I’d think more highly of him generally. There are significant gaps in his tutorials and what they cover, gaps that are filled by all kinds of incredible tutorial makers ranging from Creative Shrimp (still pretty big, not as big) to small creators with only a few subscribers. What really gets me there is that he doesn’t really acknowledge the existence of other people. His wholesale monopolization of the Blender tutorial space is annoying, but he’s earned his place in the spotlight. I respect Andrew (BlenderGuru) for his donut tutorials and for introducing so many people to Blender. This is a whole sidenote, but I 100% agree with you.
